This cool guy walked for the first time!
Six steps walking right to his Daddy- in front of Mommy to boot! Just over a week past his first birthday, we've got a walking toddler on our hands!

This very moment, a year ago today...
we met our "Wee One"; Ethan Louis was out of my belly and in our arms. Happy first birthday to our son as I look back with tears of joy to the first moments we held you one short year ago.
I am not a good enough of a writer to find the words to describe how much you have changed our lives for the better, Ethan. So, I will borrow the words of another.
"Before you were conceived, I wanted you. Before you were born, I loved you. Before you were here an hour, I would die for you. This is the miracle of love." - Maureen Hawkins

Last Day!
Today is my last day working outside of the house full time! In one week, we received 180 very qualified applicants for my one position! Eeep! I'm pretty confident they'll find a great staffer to replace me and while this huge change to full-time momma is a big one- I know it's one where I can't be replaced!

Preview of Preteen Years
Ethan's just started using this look and I find it hilarious! I think it foreshadows the exact look he'll give me when I say he can't borrow the car or stay out after curfew! Just add the sound of a slammed door after a huff and a stop and it's complete! :)

Highlights from Last Week Working in Our Capital (for now!)
We attended a legislative briefing in the Senate building on indigent representation issues. A gentleman in the front row of the panel had recently been released from a Florida prison on a murder charge he hadn't committed (DNA tests exonerated him after decades in prison).
Outside the Senate office building. (no, I'm not wearing white pantyhose, thankyouvermuch ;)
Anti-death penalty rally held at the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court.
Here's a "birther" driving by. It's hard to see, but the bumper stickers are different ways of saying, "Show me the birth certificate Obama!" lol.
Inside our Senator's office building.
Where I picked up some tickets to view the Congressional and Senate galleries- these are for your visit Grandma and Grandpa!
These events were a great way to spend my last week at my current position before entering the next phase of my career (SAHM!).
