This year Ethan was VERY opinionated! He HAD to be "Word Girl," a superhero from PBS with quite the vocabulary. I was sold when he begged for Gavin to be his "sidekick", a "Captain Huggy Face" (her pet monkey that doesn't talk but flies around fighting crime. This show isn't exactly current, a Netflix gem, so I got my first crack at home made costumes.
Here's a frame of reference as virtually no one knows who they were dressed as! Didn't bother them one bit as Ethan shouted "Word Up" running down the sidewalk with his loyal sidekick toddling behind.
The part where Ethan - excuse me, WordGirl got his boot stuck in the tree and the clown had to help him get out was comedy in its purest form. Had a GREAT time!
