You might think this is for my sons, you know the adage that every boy needs a dog?
Honestly, it's simply the first time in my life I could ever be a good dog owner. Growing up every Santa letter pled for a puppy, reassuring the jolly old man it wouldn't really hurt my very allergic mom. Then I lived and worked in college residence halls where they were prohibited. Then I had my own baby's poop to clean up after the last 6 years.
But my youngest is potty trained and I'm glutton for punishment! Bring on 10 more years of cleaning up poop!
After much researching and shelter hunting I found the most amazing dog, Lucky!
A 19lb poodle shih tzu mix, two low allergy, low shedding dogs in one! At 5 years old, his elderly owner just passed away. All the house, leash, and simple training is done already! (RIP of course)
He looks like a puppy but is docile and patient like a champ! The boys wrestling around doesn't faze him, and he doesn't care to join in either. It's so sweet how fiercely protective of Lucky Ethan seems already. I hope he gets the unconditional love from his first dog that I always dreamt of as a child.
Check out the last pic, the groomer gave him an Uncle Sam goatee. I had it trimmed for the puppy cut but a pretty funny option!
